Still Shakin’ The Bush Boss – Andy Xport (2006 – 2008)

Still shakin’ the bush boss was my comeback album, after a 14 year sabbatical i was so upset with Tony Blair ignoring our protests in 2003 taking us to war in Iraq, coupled with the fact that on 9/11 the buildings we’re obviously collapsed with explosives, i started to strum my guitar and write songs again, it seems my old adage of Man’s Hate was back and unlike other musicians who sing about love, all i could sing about is what i hate, i looked for a way to get my new computer recorded music out and looked to the network phenomenon that was myspace, the day i put “Sexed Up” onto myspace my computer came under serious attack from a hacker who within minutes (as i sat and watched with interest!) hacked my computer down, it took me two weeks to get back online with a new hard drive, my firewall warned me my computer was under serious attack, but as i later learned Zone Alarm was developed by Mossad!

“Sexed Up” also featured on Neil Youngs anti war songs page and the spiffing cover was by Frankenangel a graphic artist from Arkansas who i gave the remit to make something like the cover of  Status Quo’s album “On the Level”, and Ang did me proud. The album title is from the line spoken by Paul Newman in the film “Cool Hand Luke” and obviously a play on President Bush’s name and also on the fact that i still had something to say and a voice of anger, Stuart Christie states in his book “Granny made me an anarchist” that members of the  Angry Brigades fave film was also “Cool Hand Luke”!

Un-Re-Leashed – Andy Xport (1984 – 1992)

Un-Re-Leashed is the title i am giving to this album that will feature all my unreleased tracks from the dates above, it will feature tracks i did with fellow hometapers Paul Rance of the peace and freedom poetry magazine (nothing to do with A.P.F Brigade) and Lord Litter from Berlin Germany the famous musician and Radio DJ, also it will feature the few tracks i did after 1989 on a Yamaha QY10 which my girlfriend bought me as a present, it was natty and fitted into a video box, the drums nearly sounded like drums and guitars nearly sounded like guitars etc. you can hear it on tracks like Hidden terror and Nazi Punks on Crack.

This is a retainer post the download will follow at some time.

Turning Pleasantly Numb – Man’s Hate (1989)

Turning Pleasantly Numb was the final album i produced on my home studio, it came in a card wallet without the plastic case originally, as with all of these albums all the way back to A.P.F Brigade none are the original covers apart from Takell’s paintings on “Abyss”, the cover featured a a graphic of monkey to man with the end man studying a monkey with wires attatched, the graphic on this cover was the nearest i could produce, the drums through all three studio albums was a Roland TR505 rhythm composer, as the title suggests my fire was waning slightly and i decided to call it a day from all the hometaping and mailing as it was eating up my life, and i chilled out for a bit.

Forward Into The Abyss – Man’s Hate (1988)

Forward into the abyss was my second studio album, i achieved a much more professional sound on this album after my trials and tribulations with mixing on Raiders, i also purchased a second hand Peavey bass guitar which added more depth to the sound, the cover painting by Japanese artist Takell Kizimecca were originally on the cover but the cover was only in black and white due to costs, both are fairly disturbing images which seemed to fit my music well!.

Raiders Of The Stolen Hearts – Man’s Hate (1987)

Raiders of the stolen hearts was my first studio released cassette album, and by studio i mean portable multi-tracker recording onto metal cassettes, i was using an Yamaha mt1x 4 track and you sub mixed (ping pong) 3 tracks onto the 4th so you could record 3 more tracks onto the 1st 3, effectively giving you 6 tracks to play with, the only problem being once you sub mixed there was no going back,  i also used a Yamaha Rex50 for reverb and effects, this lot cost me an arm and a leg so much so i had to wait another year before i could afford a bass guitar, so i used a my telecaster detuned to give a deep bass effect, I found a Jen 1000 synth in a second hand shop which drastically changed my sound and i got the tag in a couple of reviews as “Steam driven protest punk”, by the end of the album i had got the hang of mixing!, and i took a week off work sick so i could record Raiders.

Love Me – Man’s Hate (1985)

Love me was my second cassette album under the umbrella of Man’s Hate, this recording featured Fenner Castner on drums, Fenner was a good friend of Zan Hoffman a good friend and fellow hometaper from Kentucky USA, Fenner heard my first album “Suffer in Silence” and suggested he do some drum tracks for my next album, this was the result, recorded again with the sound on sound method, Fenner sent me his drum tracks on tape and i fitted the songs to suit the beat etc, we sound not unlike the “White Stripes” and its a very powerful sound, the original album came with a second side of old A.P.F Brigade songs i did solo but they are not on this release due to quality issues!

Suffer In Silence – Man’s Hate (1984)

Suffer in Silence was my first solo cassette album, i used the sound on sound method using the new fangled tape decks that had just come out with two tapes being able to be placed in one machine at the same time, recording onto one tape deck then playing that back through speakers and recording onto the next tape deck whilst playing live over the top, the only problem with this method was that if you made a mistake then the whole song had to be redone and the tape quality soon deteriorated.

This review was from Cause and Effect Fanzine from the USA run by Hal Mcgee and Debbie Jaffee.

God The Tape – A.P.F Brigade (1983)

“God the tape” was the A.P.F Brigades final cassette album, the title was a pun on Crass’s Christ the album, as it was now out in mp3 i decided to change it to “God the CD”, we went our separate ways shortly after releasing this tape, 1984 was looming Crass disbanded like they always said they would and we thought we had sung enough songs for now!

Crass Demo and Spirit Demo Tapes (1982 – 1983)

We did two demo tapes one for crass after the feedback for our previous cassette albums and one which was titled “spirit demo” which i am not sure what it was for, it may have been for a compilation called “spirit of an age old anthem”, but that remains uncertain.

This is a retainer post, download will follow at some time!

The Earth Soaked It Up – A.P.F Brigade (1982 – 1983)

The earth soaked it up was a collection of Jon Hindle’s poems, he turned up one day with a BBC record of bird songs a snare drum and a few cheap whistles and flute thing!, and said he had this idea to do an acoustic tape so it sounds like we are in a forest..i said erm ok yeah!, after a few tests and recording set up we just went for it as usual and this was the result, i used anything for percussion and even employed a nice wardrobe at one point, Penny Rimbaud of Crass liked this tape so much he suggested we do an e.p of it on Crass records.

Anarchist Antidote – A.P.F Brigade (1980 – 1981)

Live Brigade – A.P.F Brigade (1979-1980)

Live Brigade was the first cassette release of the A.P.F Brigade, and featured about 18 tracks, all recorded live either in a garage or house onto peoples tapes sent in with a stamped addressed envelope for return, the set was originally about 40 minutes long but we managed to get it down to 30 minutes by playing faster and faster!, often with chaotic results, all the cock ups we’re left in, and we just kept going rather like a live play the show must go on and so did we!

All the amplification was turned down low enough so we could shout over the top and it was recorded onto a mono cassette recorder with a cheap plastic mic.

Jon Hindle: Bass Vocal

Andy Xport: Guitar Vocal

Livingston Seagul: Drums

This is a retainer post the download will follow later.
